Spreader Feeders for Even Material Distribution

THE MOGENSEN SPREADER FEEDERS HAVE been developed to provide an EVEN SPREAD OF MATERIAL ACROSS PROCESS EQUIPMENT, TO INCREASE PROCESSING EFFICIENCIES AND THROUGHPUTS

MANUFACTURED IN A RANGE OF MATERIALS, SUPPLIED WITH OR WITHOUT WEAR-RESISTANT LINERS TO SUIT EACH APPLICATIONS REQUIREMENTS AND ENSURE LONGEVITY.

The Mogensen range of Transverse and Central feed vibrating Spreader Feeders are designed to accept a narrow flow of material and spread it evenly across a wider inlet such as a screen, sizer, magnetic separator or other process equipment. This uniform and controlled flow of material is a very important part
of screening and sizing and feeding which is often overlooked and promotes higher efficiency and overall better separation. Material feeds come from many different systems (Belts, buckets, hoppers etc.), which tend to offer material at a high velocity and uneven load and spread.

The Mogensen vibrating spreader feeders slow this material down to a useful presentation and ensures the feed is spread across the full width of the Screener or Sizer, thereby using the full screening deck area for maximum efficiency and output.

All Mogensen Transverse and Central feed vibrating Spreader Feeders use the industry standard Invicta vibratory motors. These out-of-balance motors run contra-rotating which helps create a shuffling action that evenly spreads and distributes fast and unbalanced material feeds. Ruggedly built for arduous, trouble free service, these vibratory feeders are engineered to the highest standards, quiet, thoroughly dust proofed and tested prior to installation.

Constructed with high-quality materials, including stainless steel, to ensure excellent resistance to wear, corrosion, and contamination.

FAQs

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Maybe these FAQs could help.

A spreader feeder is a vibratory feeder that takes a narrow flow of material and spreads it evenly across a wider inlet, such as a screen, sizer or magnetic separator. Spreader feeders typically come in transverse and central feed types and use out-of-balance motors to create an even, controlled spread that improves the efficiency of the process that follows.

Material often arrives from belts, buckets or hoppers at speed and in an uneven load. A spreader feeder uses contra-rotating vibrator motors to create a shuffling action that slows the material and spreads it evenly across the full width of the next machine. Presenting material across the whole deck area means the screen or sizer can work at its full efficiency.

Even feed presentation is one of the most important and most overlooked factors in screening and sizing. If material is bunched or fed unevenly, only part of the deck is used and separation suffers. Spreading material across the full width of the screen or sizer uses the whole deck area, which improves separation, throughput and overall efficiency.

The difference is where the material enters. A transverse spreader feeder takes material from one side and spreads it across the width. A central feed spreader feeder takes material in the middle and spreads it out both ways, which usually allows wider coverage. The right type depends on how the material is delivered and the width that needs to be covered.

Spreader feeders are made in a range of widths to match the equipment they feed, from around one metre up to several metres on central feed units. Common options include covers, wear liners such as abrasion-resistant steel, stainless steel or ceramic, dust seals, and single or double outlets, with bespoke designs to suit the layout.

Yes. For food and hygienic duties, spreader feeders are usually built in stainless steel, which resists wear, corrosion and contamination. Hygienic designs are made for easy cleaning, with components that can be taken apart and reassembled and surfaces that are easy to access and inspect. For specific food-contact requirements, the materials and finishes can be specified accordingly.
